A 50-pound dinosaur statue, affectionately known as “Claire,” has been successfully returned to her customary spot outside a California gas station following a public outcry over her theft. The fiberglass raptor, a local landmark for years, was reported missing earlier this week, sparking a community-wide effort for her recovery.
Claire, a detailed raptor replica weighing approximately 50 pounds, was a fixture at Pete’s Pit Stop in Mill Valley. Her disappearance, believed to have occurred late Tuesday night, was noticed by the station’s owner, Maria Rodriguez, on Wednesday morning.
Ms. Rodriguez quickly posted about the theft on local social media groups, and the news rapidly spread. The community’s response was swift and strong, with many expressing shock and demanding Claire’s safe return.
